I build 3 things around every app
3 things launch with every app I build.
- The app. It earns the revenue, and the other two exist to feed it.
- The newsletter. Every user of the app joins it.
- The blog. It brings new people in from Google and AI tools, then sends each reader to the app and to the list.
Here is why.
The newsletter is an audience I own.
Instagram can ban an account tomorrow, and every follower disappears with it. You start again at zero. An email list stays with you, because the addresses sit in your own database, whatever any platform decides to do next.
My newsletter hit 3,000 subscribers in January 2026. After one week of growing it, it brought in $489. Now picture it with a list 10 times bigger, full focus, and 12 months of work behind it instead of one week. Side note: I later lost that newsletter, a story for another issue.
The list also sells the app. A subscriber who never installed gets a reason to download, and a user who uninstalled gets a reason to come back.
The blog is a new front door.
People type their questions into Google. They also ask AI tools like ChatGPT the same questions. A blog with narrow answers gets found by Google and quoted by AI, so each post works as a door that stays open day and night.
Each post answers one question. It points to the app, and readers who want more join the list.
Every piece of content gets used 3 times.
I write an idea once. A social post becomes a blog post, then the blog post becomes a newsletter issue. One idea turns into 3 pieces on 3 channels, and each channel reaches a group of people that the other two miss.
3 times the reach, for one effort.
Users feed the content too.
Every user message is a post idea. They reply to my emails, send feedback and write to me in the app. When a user writes that the app helped them, I ask for a review, then ask permission to feature their words in a post or an issue.
The user sees their words published. Other users see it, want the same, and write to me more. More messages bring more content, and more content brings more users, so the loop feeds itself with every new user who joins the app.
The loop
The blog finds people,
the newsletter keeps them,
the app earns from them,
and users feed the content back into the blog.
The app is worth more.
One app is one asset. An app with a list and blog traffic is three assets. That is how I value my apps and how a buyer sees them: one deal brings the users, the readers and the traffic.
Later, the audience pays twice.
Sponsors follow the numbers. With enough subscribers and monthly visitors, sponsors and partners start to pay for a spot. Same audience, new revenue line, and the app keeps earning on its side the whole time.
Platforms lend you reach. A list is yours.
